Who are you voting for in 08 and why?

Does Buddhism have anything to do with your pick?

Whoever the Democrat is--probably Obama.

Sure, Buddhism has something to do with it. Compassion, specifically.

I'm voting for Obama, assuming he wins the Democratic nomination.

Insofar as my practice informs my world-view, it has an influence on my choices. My practice has taught me the value and necessity of compassion and patience in my relationships with others, and so I'm choosing the candidate that appears to be the most patient and compassionate in their views.

On a philosophical level, Obama, as any other candidate, leaves a bit to be desired, but I think wherever his platform is lacking, he makes up for in appearing to be open to criticism, persuasion and dialog.
